Skilled - Independent Visa (Subclass 189)
The Australian Skilled - Independent Visa (subclass 189) is an Australian skilled visa for skilled workers who are not sponsored by an employer, a state or territory, or a family member. A visa holder can live and work permanently anywhere in Australia. Certain family members can be included in the application. You must score at least 60 points (the pass mark) on the Points Test to be eligible for this visa. To be able to lodge a valid application for this visa you need to first submit an Expression of Interest through SkillSelect. You can do this in or outside Australia.
Skill- State Sponsored Visa (Subclass 190)
Similar to application of visa 189, the only difference is that the Applicants under this type of visa shall have obtained state sponsorship and Applicant’s occupation can be varied from state to state.
Temporary Work- Long Stay Visa (Subclass 457)
For those businesses that have a standard business sponsorship or labour agreement in place, they can sponsor skilled employee from overseas to work for their business. The Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme or RSMS visa is a permanent employer sponsored visa, which requires a job offer in a Regional Area of Australia. There are in general three stages to an RSMS application: RCB Certification, Nomination and Visa application. Applicants must be aged under 50, unless exceptional circumstances apply.
